Two weeks ago, the horrible mass shooting in Las Vegas occurred, where 59 people were killed and 241 were injured, followed by prayers and minutes of silence, but nothing substantially changed in the US to regulate gun violence. The firearms ownership of that country is insane compared to the rest of the world.

There are many reasons why people become violent around the planet, but in the United States in particular, this violence becomes deadly when the perpetrator can so easily get a firearm.

Today the weather in Berlin was completely bouncing between sunny and rainy, but this created quite a stunning sky that you can observe in this picture.

Today I came back from a quick bike sprint to the store to leave some PET bottles and buy a couple of things. When I was about to insert the key to open the garage door, I observed this nice snail moving slowly around the edge. Its shell was beautiful, so I thought it was worth it to get the phone and take a picture.

Over the last couple of weeks, we have had news stories about Harvey and now Irma. Harvey caused a lot of havoc in Texas, and now Irma seems to be on the same path in the Caribbean islands and Florida. The Hurricane Division of the Atlantic Oceanographic and Meteorological Laboratories tracks on their website the number of storms per year, and based on the data, it looks like the number is steadily increasing. Sigh... climate change.

Today I was making a copy of the pictures I shared on Twitter a couple of years ago during my career break, and when I was reviewing those photos, I remembered this particular shot on a long exposure where a guard stayed only for a brief time, creating this cool phantom effect.
